I am not a dietician. I am not a nutritionist. I am not a psychotherapist.

I AM a woman who, as a child, was put on her first diet when she was less than 10 years old. My relationship with food, movement and body image is an evolution. Through trial and error I have found many approaches that work for me, and even more that don’t.

What I know for certain is this: I am not going to heal this wound alone. I don’t have to. And neither do you.

I offer a number of services to help you free yourself from obsessive thinking and make friends with food and your physical self.

  • BodySherpa™ sessions. Individual guidance and care for your body’s journey. Practical advice. Customized tools. Support without shame for weight, food, exercise and body-image concerns. Available in my office or over the phone.
  • Menu planning. Together we’ll review your cookbooks and recipes and look for ways to incorporate more of what you love to eat into your diet. When appropriate, we’ll discuss simple, tasty ways for lightening up your favorites.
  • Kitchen Analysis. I bring a fresh eye and perspective to your refrigerator and pantry, and together we’ll draft a plan for creating a supportive and inviting food environment for you — one that fits your budget and is easy to maintain.
  • Guided Grocery Shopping. Together we’ll shop for foods that help you meet your weight, body-image and nutritional goals. You will learn how to read labels and make smarter food choices, discover new favorite “go to” foods, and develop confidence in making eating a healthy and joyous experience.
  • Cooking together. Are your pots pristine — waiting to be used? Have you always wanted to cook but feel uncertain about where to begin? Are you nervous about it "coming out right?" Let’s do it together. Your recipes or mine. Step-by-step, shoulder-to-shoulder in your kitchen.
  • Tandem Training. Imagine letting go of the fear of doing it wrong. Getting lost. Not being able to keep up. And doing the things you’ve always dreamed of. One-on-one or in a group. I offer walking, hiking and biking excursions that challenge and support you in a physically and emotionally safe environment.
